A case filed under the Public Property Act against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Secretary to the President Saman Ekanayake is scheduled to be taken up today (30) before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
The case has been filed over allegations of the misuse of public funds.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had previously informed the court that investigations into the incident had been completed and that the relevant documents had been submitted to the Attorney General for further action.
Accordingly, Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena ordered that the case be called today to inform the court of the Attorney General’s position on the matter.
