The financial fraud case against Arun Thambimuttu has been adjourned to October 9th.
The case was filed by members of the Tamil diaspora who allege that Thambimuttu defrauded them by taking their money for investments and using it for his own personal gain. The hearing took place today at the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court, presided over by Magistrate Tharshini.
Christy Gunaratnam, a diaspora businessman who filed the lawsuit, stated that such fraudulent activities against Tamils in the diaspora who wish to invest in Sri Lanka could discourage future investments in the country.
