Sri Lanka’s Vishwa Fernando has been ruled out of the Test series against New Zealand, being played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, due to an injury.
Sri Lanka Cricket said that Fernando had developed a tightness in his right hamstring while practicing. Hence, he has been sent to the High-Performance Center for rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, Nishan Peiris, the 27-year-old right-arm off-spinner, has been added to the squad in place of Fernando.
