Iranian Foreign Minister arrives in Sri Lanka

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahia arrived in the island on Monday night (19 Feb.), for a three-day official visit.

A delegation of 20 persons, including the Iranian Foreign Minister, were welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake by State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya last night.

The Iranian Foreign Minister, who arrived on an invitation extended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry, will be in Sri Lanka from 19 – 21 February, and is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

The visiting Minister and his delegation will also have official discussions with Minister Ali Sabry at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
